Someone recently described “Xennials” as having been born roughly between 1977 and 1983, who had an analog childhood and a digital adulthood. I was born a couple years outside of that window but I feel that it applies to me more than any other “generational” nickname. I remember hanging around a landline phone waiting for an important phone call and getting greeting cards and postcards from loved ones abroad. Today’s digital landscape makes it almost impossible to disconnect. We endlessly scross social media being fed whatever custom curated nonesense the algorithm has served up for you. Collectively, we’re all more stressed out, angry, anxious and depressed than ever before. Social media and technology have thier places in the world, I’ve just decided that mine is better off with less of it.
You can likely keep up with the exciting wonderings and endless adventures of the Brown family through some of the other family social media accounts. I won’t advertise those here, but you know how to find them if you want. For me, I’ll be keeping this very simple website updated with various family updates and milestones once I determine a way to do it securely and with privacy as a priority. I have no plans of returning to Facebook or Instagram, so if you want insights or updates from my point of view, this is where you’ll need to find them.
Thanks for stopping by The Brown Family Collective. More to come!
